Northumbrian Adventurers Guild

he Northumbrian Adventurers’ Guild is a war-gaming and role-playing club based in Blyth, Northumberland and a member of the Gaming Club Network. The club is almost 30 years old, and was originally established at the Blyth Sport Centre in 1985. We meet every Sunday from 12 noon to 6pm in the upper room of St. Cuthbert’s Church Hall. In addition our Monday and Friday night role-playing sessions start from 6pm and take place in the mezzanine level of the hall.We recommend visiting for the first time on a Sunday afternoon, this is our busiest time and there’s always something to do!

The club has a grand tradition of encouraging new players to the hobby and we are happy to help out wherever we can, some of our most experienced gamers played their first battles at the club and are still going strong today. We welcome gamers of all ages but we do ask that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult, for extra peace of mind all of our committee members and club contacts have up to date Criminal Records Bureau checks.

We understand that building an army these days can be a costly and time consuming endeavour with that in mind we don’t insist that war-gaming figures are painted but we do encourage people to do what they can, and from time to time painting competitions are held to allow our players to showcase their efforts.

Our weekly subscription is £4 for non-members (your first visit is free!) and £3 for members. Annual membership costs just £5 which is reduced to £2.50 after October 1st; and expires on the first Sunday of April. Full membership also opens the rest of the forums up to include the Trading Post and members-only areas.

What do we play?

Our roleplayers cater for a massive varierty of systems including Dungeons and Dragons  from 2nd to 3.5 edition and Pathfinder, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (WFRP), Dark Heresy, Deadlands, Cyber Punk, Dark Conspiracy, Call of Cthulhu, A Song of Ice And Fire, Paranoia and Order of the Stick although we have played a great many other titles over the years and will continue to add to that list!
